Schizoid personality disorder

Schizoid personality disorder
-
Individuals with this disorder may have particular difficulty expressing anger, which contributes to the impression that they lack emotion.
-
Other Personality Disorders (especially Schizotypal, Paranoid, and Avoidant) often co-occur with this disorder.
-
People with the disorder show a flattened or restricted range of emotions, and can appear indifferent to what’s going on around them. However, their inner life can be rife with a deep emotional need, sensitivity and confusion about the world around them.

    @ryukXsayu27 …
    @ryukXsayu27 Schizoids with no distractions can be entirely focused on one subject which possibly could allow them to stay on problems for a long time. Some historians believe Albert Einstein possibly had Asperger Syndrome, a similar psychological condition (due to the fact he had difficulty in social relationships), allowing him to have intense thoughts while bored at the patent office working on his theory of relativity

    I don’t get the …
    I don’t get the whole “creative” schizoid idea. As an EXTREMELY flat affect schizoid, I can’t see why a person with SPD, who would apparently lack emotion or hobbies or ambition, would be creative or bother making art. Could somebody help me out here?

    @sillypuppy2 I …
    @sillypuppy2 I display traits of both… I think at least. I have a lot of trouble expressing joy and anger, but I usually cover that up by being funny or nice.
    It’s confusing for me, especially when it comes to relationships. It’s like being infatuated by the idea of having one, but not seeing it as something you can possibly do. It’s very confusing for the other person as well. They can think it’s their fault that you’re cutting yourself off from them. Or they think you’re crazy…

    I don’t see how someone could have avoidant and schizoid personality disorder at the same time. Can someone please tell me what these people are like.

  12. MajSolo Says:

    And that is why I …
    And that is why I sort of don’t like a diagnose but that we keep that in the coach drawers. And that we just keep helping them to move in the right direction. A diagnose can be like an excuse. It might be bad if all you get is the diagnose and no more help to self help. A diagnose might be good if that person is surrunded by persons who wont change behaviour unless faced with an official diagnose. But in general I don’t like them.

  13. MajSolo Says:

    nope.

    But I do …
    nope.

    But I do think that its not on and off with psychology and that you move along axis and develop or grow into certain behaviour or is pushed into certain behaviour over time. A diagnose, THAT, is on and off. IF, someone get a diagnose THEN what and what about those that don’t get one. And what about those that suffer 10% from everything. They will not be understod because their ways are not clear.
    And the other part is ordinary people need to learn this stuff would help w understanding

  17. MajSolo Says:

    And there is also …
    And there is also the problem of the klient to hide behind the diagnose. Making them immovable. The problem is perhaps not so much the patient or the shrink as the rest of the society. They only think about other stuff, they are not trained, and therefore probably unable to understand. People who suffer from any disorder spend 100% of their lives living it, thinking about it, and probably think not only about themselves but of other people … something other people should try ….

  18. MajSolo Says:

    Psychology is crap. …
    Psychology is crap. Why give some the diagnose and some not. IMHO, what can you have a little bit of everything. Idiots always want the system to be simple. Once upon a time surgeons where so pleased when they ripped open a chest and found a hear and liver and so on. Then decades and decades later they found DNA. So, where do you think psychology stands today? Have they found the DNA of the human psyche? I think not. It is still medievak times … lot of work still for them …

    i have this and its a big problem for my family
    generally i always skip family events and get-togethers because pretty much i just don’t want to go ha ha.
    they always get mad and then i just distance myself even more
    plus with me being a girl I’m ‘posed to find a husband and get some kids but i just don’t want that
    id honestly rather live alone
