I’ll be talking a bit about the views on mental illnesses in japan, such as depression and other mental disorders, and how japanese people react to them.
General info:
My channel, TokyoZeplin, focuses on my experiences as a gaijin, a foreigner, living (or lived as of now) in Tokyo, Japan. While a lot of my videos are not facts about Japan, but rather my personal experiences in Japan, mostly Tokyo, a few of them do pop up. My topics range from prostitution in Japan, Japanese (no, not really), womens rights in Japan, working conditions in Tokyo, japanese hostesses and their culture, japanese history and culture in general, and much more. Now and then I help people learn japanese, especially japanese slang, though not a lot since there are a lot of tools for learn japanese online. But since I rarely went outside Tokyo, this is really mostly about Tokyo Japan, as my name indicates.

Mental illness and addiction have no boundaries and affect people from all walks of life. Mental health and addiction treatment services play an important role in supporting Ontarians. Stigma and access are the main challenges for people living with mental illness and addiction. In Ontario, one million people will experience a mental illness, but only 20% will get help. Currently, hospitals, government, community mental health and addiction treatment agencies, and Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) have the opportunity to improve integration and create a mental health and addiction system that is truly welcoming, comprehensive, coordinated, based on best practices and accessible – not only geographically – but across the client’s lifespan and the continuum of care.
