I am having a mixed episode (mania and depression at once)
how can I help myself not have huge mood swings, auditory hallucinations, anxiety, fatigue, etc. without medication? i am on lorazepam (Ativan) but I am not on any antipsychotics or antidepressants until next month because of medical reasons. What can i do?
Avoid all caffeine and alcoholic beverages. These will make symptoms a lot worse. Try to avoid any stressful triggers that will cause your moods to switch. When I’m feeling depressed, I pull out comic strips to help me think of something funny. When I’m feeling manic, I leave my money at home and watch soap operas. Make sure that you are getting enough sleep as well. Little things like these tend to help you in the long run.
