Why is the suicide rate amongst teenagers so high?
How much does anxiety/depression related illnesses impact thoughts of suicide?
well first off i would like to inform you that i am only 17 and not entitled to call this a Professional opinion however the link between depression and suicide is common and i see this in my friends allot, is that they are usually abused in some way shape or form such as Physically, verbally, mentally, and the rare case of all three.
due to these key thing they tend to think of them self’s a worthless wanting to be loved hopeless and think that no matter what happens their life won’t change, and they wish they could just disappear and the results?
willingness to be with any one they can
cutting
taking abuse as long as they are loved
isolation, wanting to be left out of everything constantly hiding in the shadows
these are things that some would call the first few acts of a play and in the final act…. death
such things cannot be taken for granted over the passed 5 years i have lost 3 friends and saved 5
girls that commit suicide tend to do it in a painless way like drugs alcohol stuff like that.
guys on the other hand usually let rage take over and go out in the most painful way as a form of getting back at who ever such as hanging, self laceration etc.
From what i can tell in your teenage years your emotions are heightened due to the hormones and such, as where when your an adult you have a better grip on your emotions and such.
sorry for the scarce information but that’s all i can think of at the moment hope this helped
In this video I give you a BRIEF description and a brief VISUAL of my very depressing, miserable living situation. Regardless of the way you’ve seen me in pictures and in my other videos THIS what I’m actually currently living in behind the scenes. Again I would like to stress that this BRIEF video doesn’t even completely show why I am depressed. There are other reasons too. This is just one of the biggest ones. I may have even forgot to mention some things in this video. If I have, then I will mention them in later videos.
For those of you who don’t know. Here is a short description of who I am :
My name is Caleb and I am 20 years old. My interest are dancing, music, video games, going out, and chilling with friends(when I have them). I have a huge passion for dancing and want to be a choreographer. I have severe anxiety and have difficulty going out of the house. I do go out… however, it is very hard for me to and it is very uncomfortable most of the time. The only way I can really obtain any comfort is through the medication I take(Which I’m starting to develop an addiction to by the way. Isn’t that just great?) Klonopin. I also have to have somebody with me most of the time. I get very afraid to go out alone. The places I have the most difficulty going are places that are BIG AND/OR Noisy, and crowded. Some good examples are Grocery stores, department stores, huge parking lots, huge streets with a lot of traffic, restaurants, and big city’s such as NYC. The fact that I have trouble going out to these places combined with the fact that my family more often than not refuses to go with me anywhere makes it impossible for me to even go to the grocery store to get food. Leaving me hungry at most times. My anxiety is so severe and disables me to the point where I cannot even hold a job. For this reason, I am receiving SSI benefits. I am also slipping into a deep depression from being unable to leave the house, not having any friends, and not being able to go out anywhere to meet any. And that is mainly what this video is about… Please keep in mind however that severe as my depression is, My anxiety is even more severe, and I believe it is the root factor contributing to my depression because of all the things its disabling me from doing.

They are similar in many ways but what are the main differences?
The most basic definition of depression is: sadness combined with hopelessness.
For anxiety: fear combined with an unknown cause.
There are many theories that anxiety stems from depression which may be one reason that antidepressant medication is now approved for anxiety disorders as well.
The expression of the two is rather different. Depression focuses on the sadness and "depressed" element of a person who has usually got low energy and output. For anxiety there is usually more excessive worry and nervousness that may be combined with too much activity.
There is no fear in love. Perfect love cast out all fear. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear.

I think i have anxiety and depression because today we had senior day and it felt like i was there bu wasn’t, and i was very tired and irritated i thought i was going to go crazy in public and freak out. I wanted to have a good time and everything. So yesterday i started exercise, and still feel the same, WHY? wHAT’S wrong with me
The way you describe how it felt like you were there but wasn’t there, sounds like depersonalisation anxiety disorder (from what I’ve been told) where when you feel anxious you feel a sort of out of body feeling.
But I would advise seeing a doctor, although with therapy if you’re given it won’t be easy, generally for anxiety group therapy is suggested to push your limits and get you to overcome it.
I just want drugs, anything to make me feel better. god I miss doing blow.
If it’s situational depression, you can probably get by with more or intense exercise and counseling. If it’s clinical depression, you might need some medication to help for a while, but yes, it would indeed be good to resolve this without dependence on medications.
Apart from clinical depression, most depression is caused by ‘putting your hope in the wrong place.’ Talk to a counselor for direction, and have lunches with a friend who is willing to listen to you. If cost is an issue, local churches usually offer free counseling. Professional counselors are good too, but there is no need to see them for more than 2 years…then you are considered dependent on them.
